Book and Movie Reviews

Books and movies are like apples and
oranges.
They are both fruit, but they taste
completely different.

Despicable Me

Despicable Me (2010)
Director: Stars: Rating -/5 ****

Before I start to explain why I watched this movie in the first place, I'd like to clarify why I didn't watch it up until last month. I'm all for animation, I watch them as soon as they come out; be it Pixar, Dreamworks etc...
However, I avoided this movie, pretended as if I didn't know it existing because of the reaction I got from tons of people who have previously watched it saying that "it was the funniest and most amazing movie a person could watch" and "It was great for ALL ages."

and from then on out, I was in utter denial.

Then, I watched the movie. Then, I fell in love with the movie. Then, I fell in love with the minions. Then, I watched the movie three more times again. And here's why:

The story revolves around an evil guy, Gru, who's dying need in life is to prove to his mother and himself that he can be the world's best villain and he finds a way to do that. Adopting three little girls from a horrid orphanage, he tries to balance the life of a parent (even though he did not intend to become one at first) and the life of a villain. Everything works out great until he begins to have a deeper connection to the three little sisters. And thus unravels the realization that he might not be such a bad guy after all.
It all sounds pretty normal but everything changed my point of view about this movie when it was minion-fied.

I personally feel watching this movie could make you a happier person, even if for a little while.
Enjoy ^.^
